I brought a new .357/9mm Blackhawk convertible home last week. I probably paid too much, but these things are kinda rare around here and I've been wanting one for a while. I like shooting 9x19 in it as I have a Dillon Square Deal set up in 9 that's pretty fast. Still have to cast the bullets, but at least the reloading part is fast. I load my other calibers on a Lee auto indexing turret which is fast, but not AS fast. This Dillon is left over from my days 20 years ago of shooting IDPA. I used to burn one HECK of a lot of 9mm in practice and competition and still have lots of components around. I used to pick up lots of brass at the range, too.
Anyway, I gave 600 for this thing, 599 actually, but what's a dollar? While I was at it, I pulled out my other SA revolvers for a family pic.
I notice this new Blackhawk has a smaller frame and frame window than my older .357 Blackhawk. The cylinders ain't even CLOSE to the same length. The new gun seems more compact, more handy. I like it a lot. It shoots good, too, and my old jacketed IDPA load 9mm goes into about 1.25" off bags at 25 yards. I'd thought the 9mm cylinder would lack something, but I'm impressed. Seems to like my .38 WC load (don't have a .38/.357 that don't) and seems to like my 140 grain JHP .357 carry load the best. It shoots a 180 XTP danged accurate, though, got some more experimentation to do with THAT bullet.
