i've recently decided to part ways with my S&W Sigma 9VE. i've been offered two trades for it, a Charter Arms Undercover, and a Taurus 85 .38 Special. i've wanted a snubbie for awhile, but i know nothing about them. are either one fair trades for the Sigma? if i sell it, i'm only going to get $200, at most.

I sold my Taurus for $250. It's what it's worth to you. If you need one, they seem to be decent. If you don't need it, buy ammo for what you'll keep or save it for something else.

Maybe even buy dinner or flowers for the lady. That outta keep you out of trouble for a little while. ;)

Personally, I'd keep the Sigma or throw in a few bucks and trade for a higher quality snubbie than the Charter or Taurus.

I think your a bit low on your $200 trade value. Revolvers will continue to be produced. Your 9ve has 15+1 if I recall correctly (maybe 16 and 1) 40ve has 14 cap. With an assault ban in the works your 9ve is worth quite a bit more than the $200 mentioned. Don't give it away.

Kinda funny you ask. A shooting buddy of mine recently turned in his 9mm Sigma at a recent gun buy back -- he ended up w/ $100 and a pair of shoes (the shoes he sold on ebay).

Go to GunBroker, SW9VE, SW40VE"s are bringing about $325-$375.00 all day long. Yes, it's a bad trade on what you listed. Just sell it on GB, then buy what you want. Personally i'd keep it, and add a Stubnose in your collection.
