I pulled some pics from a Blade Magazine piece that I thought might be of interest.
Note the use of wood for pommels in the Pal (top) and Robeson (bottom) USN Mk1s. Brass, aluminum and even steel were in demand for firearms and equipment so materials like plastic and wood were used at times.
These are both Union Cutlery "KaBar" USN Mk2s. We've had lots of discussions on the USMC Fighting Utility Knife/USN Mk2. Camillus, Union Cutlery, Robeson, Pal, Utica, Ontario and even a few rare Marbles were made for the Pacific theater.
The M3 was made by Camillus, Boker, Kinfolks, Robeson, Utica, Imperial, Case, Aerial and Pal.
Western "Sharks". Note their use of plastic for guards and pommels.
Western 46-8 fighters had variations like steel, aluminum and plastic pommels.
The Cattaraugus 225Q Quartermaster. Be careful about copies.
