First ones I have seen for sale.

I have an old EMF catalog that shows that you could special order these with various grips and engraving in several finishes.

You know that's not a bad price for a cased set with a Model 1851 and a Model 1860 together. Really like the look of the engraving and the faux ivory grips with the raised eagles.

Yeah I know the feeling. Too many other projects going on right now otherwise I would definitely be interested in this set.

I'm tapped out too or I would be all over this!

Here are the list prices from the EMF 1997 catalog and January price list:

PP60CH448 Case Hardened Steel Frame 1860 .44 $216
GREWN* Faux Ivory Grips with Eagle $70
Engraving **~ $50
Total $$336

(*Navy size as Army size only lists Plain Faux Ivory for $50)
(**Price for the catalog pictured engraved model PP60CHE448 is not listed but The Brass Frame engraved model is $47 more expensive the than the plain Brass Frame model)

PP51CH-712 Case Hardened Steel Frame 1851 .44 $192
GREWN Faux Ivory Grips with Eagle $70
Engraving *~ $50
Total $$312

(*Price for the Steel Frame engraved model is not listed but the Brass Frame engraved model is $53 more expensive the than the plain Brass Frame model)

No French style cases are listed but the English cases list for around $100

Your total cost for these, in 1997, would have been about $748

Added: The 1990 EMF catalog and March 1990 price list show the Steel Frame 1860 engraved version more than $100 over the plain Steel Frame version. That would up the ante to about $850, almost twice what the Track is asking.

:banghead: Had I seen this before yesterdays gun show........................:banghead: How do you spell "Buyers remorse"

Edit: after a range session this past Wednesday I take back the buyers remorse remark.

It looks like the Army has Navy grips. ASM made an 1861 Navy in 44 cal which was just an 1860 Army with Navy grips.

It now says "Sale Pending."

Who was the lucky buyer???

Please give us a report when they arrive so that we impoverished, envious few can live vicariously!
