If you have a shooting club, or a Local TFL/THR chapter group or what have you... here is something for you...
You know how emails are all read by the FBI's system? You want to encript it, but PGP only flags your email for deeper scrutiny... so that doesn't work. And who knows who else is reading your email! Here it is:
Groove. http://www.groove.net/products/workspace/
It's free for "personal use".
Goto http://www.groove.net/downloads/groove/ and download the free Groove Workspace software.
Let me sum this up. It's a Peer to Peer client that creates a shared space that isn't server dependant. It allows for all kinds of tools like file sharing, calander sharing, threaded discusison, chat, notes, pictures... even chess. Most importantly - it's all encripted. Very secrure. No central server that you have no control over... it's user to user. Nothing in the middle. Developed by the same cat that came up with Lotus Notes.
You download Groove and send the members of your group "Invitations". They then download Groove and enter your "Shared Space"... any information in it is downloaded... and from then on, it's live and in real-time. If you go off line for awhile, any new information is updated as soon as you log back into it.
Meaning?
This means you can keep everyone up to date, make plans, share information... anything... and your not using email.
Don't just send the coded "invitations" to anyone... Only your trusted circle. You never know when it's time to feed the hogs.
I know this isn't gun related directly - but it's a good tool that your local groups can use to keep abreast of everything that you don't want the FBI or ATF knowing about... I could see a gaggle of FFL's in an area using it... small Gun Clubs... or bigger gun clubs with it's cadre... Check it out. It's a tool worth a close look.
