I've been away for some time.... work blocking me from being here.

Somthinging I have noticed about the victome...... they make good prey.
All the movies I see and all the stories on the boobtube have the good guy
stand there like a frozen fool untill he or she is pushed far enough to take up the
violence that could have ended the problem early on. Wisky Tango Foxtrot!!!!
Why... even after they stop the bad guy they feel bad about it. ***!!!!!
You! Are! Alive...... why in the hell would you feel bad? What the F!!! hapened to my county?!?!?!

Why does the good guys have to stand there untill they get stabed in the rib
cage before they do anything?

The feeling of being alive is a gift. Big smile!!!! Bad guy dies.... roll over...
go to sleep.

I think the truly good guys realize what it means to take a life and don't make that decision lightly. I know I'd try every other possible option before pulling the trigger. Goung to the gun shoule be the last resort, not the first one.

The day that I feel nothing, or even worse, good, about killing a person is the day I probably don't want to know me anymore.

There's nothing wrong with feeling relieved or euphoric about saving your life or someone else's. But enjoying the act of homicide is the sign or some serious problems under the hood.

Are you talking about movies?

I'm talking about the mass social mind. It seems that a person who does use
deadly force to defend him or herself becomes the bad guy.

The news seem to show more of the "My babie, you did not have to kill my babie"
even if he was raping your wife. Or make statements like "He took the law
into his own hands and shot 2 would be robbers". Wisky Tango Foxtrot?!?!?!
Again why?

Movies, don't get me started on them..... 3 friends have to die before the so called
hero takes the steps needed to stop them. Its like we are being trained to be the
victim.
I look at history, various civilizations and wonder what they would have done.
Is it realy wrong to not feel bad if to save ones life or the life of those you
love you have to take the life of another? The life of one who was so willing
to destroy yours. Is it wrong not to lose sleep?

What about being joyfull that your family is safe and well? That you are alive!?

i think many people are happy after having "sruvived"

then sad because they have taken a life, not good for most of us.

then possibly more sad, because they killed someone, and felt good first...

then again, i am no phsycologist....

I'm not a psychologist either, but if you're a "good person," you wouldn't think of taking a life to be something conducive to remaining a "good person." So, when you take a life, it results in cognitive dissonance: the unpleasant cognitive phenomena that results when behavior and morals do not match.

So, even though you logically know it had to be done (in a self-defense situation), it's something you wish hadn't happened.

Mas Ayoob calls it the "Mark of Cain" and it is real. One can use the sheep/sheepdog analogy to partially explain it. The truth is that many people are almost as uncomfortable around the rough men ready to do violence on their behalf as they are around the two-legged predators that the rough men are confronting. Among all the other costs that go with a justifiable homicide one can expect a certain degree of ostracism and possibly community backlash.

As to the issue of "you killed my baby", that is completely true. Every dead criminal is a mother's child and expecting that mother to intellectually or emotionally accept that her baby really did forfeit their right to life is a little unreasonable. Yeah, she's gonna try and nail you to the wall however she can. It's a vendetta for her. That's why carrying a large amount or liability and investing in a prepaid legal service is not a bad idea for someone who chooses to go armed. It's not fair, but it's reality.
