Pretty sure that's H&R as in Harrington & Richardson.

That's what OP is referring to.

No need to worry about ocular bell clearance!

Ah, I think he was referring to the H&K advertisements with the backwards loaded magazine:

Is that an ad by H&R themselves, or put out by a local sporting goods shop?

Funny, either way. Kinda reminds me of the photoshops of a revolver with the cylinder and barrel turned around to point back at the shooter... :what:

No, that's correct. It's the NYPD SWAT edition sight

It is from a sales flyer for an LGS here in Richmond. Not sure they took the picture though....they may have even Photoshopped the scope onto the top of the gun

If they did, it's either a mirrored image, or someone mounted that scope 90* CCW.

    Confession time.

Several years ago I was trying to sell a Marlin 60 at a gunshow. I had a cheap scope I was going to throw on it just to get rid of it and maybe get a few dollars more. I quickly slid the mounts onto the dovetails and hand tightened them in the parking lot before walking in. The 1st person to look at it pointed out the scope was backwards.

All the pictures on H&R's website are fine with respect to the scope orientation so the advert pic probably is the fault of the ad company that did it for the retailer instead of H&R who appear to know which end the photons are supposed to come out of.

"with 3x9 scope mounted and boresighted."

Umm...no, thanks, I'll do that myself (since I have to re-do it anyway) if you knock $20 off the price.

If that is a 3x9...on 9x with that tiny objective it is probably pretty dim (like whoever took that photo!)

I see now, I was going to say I don`t think Harrington & Richardson would put an add like that up. That had to be done by some idiot in a big box store !............

I'm guessing that it's closer to 180 degrees off.

I am kind of guessing they cut the scope out of a picture of a gun pointing to the left, and then photoshopped it on to this gun, pointing to the right.

It is a pretty grainy image, and it is kind of hard to determine if the windage adjustment knob is visible.

If the windage adjustment is visible, it is a mirror image. If not, then either the scope is mounted on the gun backwards, or someone photoshopped on a scope which was facing the wrong direction.

Green Top Sporting Goods from Ashland, Vir.

A helpful fella could point it out to them.

First the scope is on backwards, then the scope adjustments are out of whack and if that I a 3x-9x scope it's not something that I would want. The scope looks more like a 1x-4x powered scope than what's indicated in the ad.

It's clearly one of those new 1x35mm AO scopes that are becoming so popular with all the teenagers.

You clearly shoot this peering down the muzzle end.

    Thanks for the laugh, OP.

I did something similar. Mounted a scope while I was talking on the phone.

It's amazing the accomplishments done while distracted!

After a closer look, it is really a tactical flashlight, with turrets used for on/off and brilliance adjustments.
