Haven't posted in a while...hoping everyone is well and having a great summer. I don't load or shoot much, but when I do, try to make it count. I bought these from the factory in 2015 and thought I might put some together over some Titegroup. They say hind sight is 20-20. Let me know when you catch the issue, other than it's been a year since I loaded and didn't shoot these :)...

How did 230gr bullets get in the 200gr box? And what made you weight the bullets?

That should be a great load, but I get your point! In some less forgiving cartridges that could be a bad deal.

I see two issues.

#1 230 grain (gr.) projectile in 200 grain (gr.) labeled box.
#2 projectile weight on load label written as 200 g. , (g= grams... 200 GRAMS = 3086.5 GRAINS)

mstreddy, I haven't weighed them all as a box of 500 but the handful I threw on the scale were all very close to 230gr.
Jack B., I believe the factory's QC may have been off that day. Great deal with discounted flat rate shipping. I was cleaning up the bench after loading some 223's and had 1/2 dozen to return to the box. Put the caliper on one, tossed it on the scale and thought WTH? Lesson learned-will always weigh a sample going forward when buying 1st time.
SamT1, Seemed to run light, with other powders performing poorly. Good thing I don't work near max, eh?

I doubt you’d blow up a 45 even at max load subbing up a 230 from 200 or even 180. But most things aren’t that forgiving! Kinda a serious liability issue for a bullet maker. Guess that’s why lots of recommendations are to work back up if you at max every time lot number changes on something.

I like Exteremes but I too have had QC issues with them. Sent back a box of 0.398" projectiles that should have been 0.040". They replaced my returns and made it right. Still, we must be vigilant!

You can see the difference in the X-Treme 200 and 230 Gr HPs.

Back in the day I would use 5.0 Grs of W-231 with any lead or plated bullet I had from 200 to 230 Gr and it would shoot better than I could.

Looks like the initial stamp on the box was removed and it was restamped below the first one with the 200gr weight.
Glad you caught it.
Could have been bad if someone loaded them and didn't check.
