Well I took my new MK40 to the range for the second time today. I shot two magazines thought it and was very happy with the results. I thought I was starting to get the hang of this guy. Loaded up two more mags, inserted the first into the gun, rack the slide, bring the gun up to fire and Something is missing... Oh yeah, the Front Sight!!!! The front Meprolight sight had fallen off the gun. Now this is a brand new gun with only about 110 rounds though it. This does not speak well for the companies attention to detail. I took the gun back to the place of purchase and they are going to send it back to Kahr. Does anyone know how long it might take? Does anyone have any experience with Kahrs customer service department? I reliase that this is not a big deal, but still disappointing. Well I just thought I would share. Thanks Juan.

What do I know? When a brand new gun blows its front sight off on the first trip to the range, I call that a big deal.

Every company in every business has lemons get out of the factory. What tells you if you want to do business with them again is how they handle it.

Keep us posted, will you?

I've heard nothing but good things about Kahr's customer service. if the stories I hear are true, you should have your pistola back within 2 weeks, tops. they'll probably polish all the internals and give it a good looking over while they have it. at least that's what I've heard based on accounts here and on other boards.

I had a problem with my slidestop when I got my pistol. called Kahr, got Mr. Moon himself when they transferred me back to service. sent me a new slidestop and a replacement trigger lock (the original was missing from the box when I got it). parts arrived with in 2 days. I was good to go. no charge.
