As the title says, do you know of a source for wood laminant stocks for Marlin XT22TR? I'd really like to find one with the brown and green combination [like the Forest on other laminate stocks].

Please post a link if you have any suggestions. Thanks!

Boyds stocks, They have 4 different stocks 3 for the bull barrel and 1 for any barrel. I just bought a custom SS evolution from them for my Marlin XT-22 magnum. It should be here next week. I know it need a few extra parts since the trigger guard is part of the synthetic stock, so I got a nickel trigger guard from numrichs and a wood screw and rear takedown screw from brownells, if you want once I get it I can take some pics and post them here for you.

Use the search feature on the left to select your rifle make and model, the model will be the XT series

I've seen them for some of the Marlin XT models, but mine is the tube fed model. Even Boyds. But doing the search, the only ones they have for Marlin are the "clip fed" models.

Also, for this rifle, I'm more interested in a traditional rifle stock. Would just love the laminate brown/green/gray style like "Forest".

Let us know if you find a laminated stock for a Marlin XT22TR. The only stocks for Marlin bolt action tube feeds that I see at Boyd's are for the 81C and the 81 DL. Both of those are listed as "semi-inletted" walnut not laminated.

I have no idea if they would fit a XT22TR. I would be surprised if they did. Maybe Boyd's knows?

I may have to just buy a blank from them and attempt to make my own stock. That seems like a monumental undertaking, . . . . . especially for someone without any tools, living in an apartment. :(

One possible alternative would be to purchase a laminated stock for a detachable box magazine Marlin XT22. That would require cutting a groove below the barrel channel for the magazine tube and fitting a block into the inlet for the detachable box magazine. A lot of work, but less than starting with a blank.

A while ago I looked at the Marlin XT22TR. I like tube feed 22s especially Marlins. The problem I had with the XT22TR was the plastic stock. It just didn't feel, look or balance right for me. At that time I thought "no problem" I'll just get a Boyd's replacement stock, no such luck. I could not find a wooden or laminate replacement stock, so I deferred buying the XT22TR.

Luckily for me, several months ago I found an old (circa 1941) Marlin 81 DL in a local gun shop. It's in pretty good shape and shoots very nicely. A good old fashion heavy wooden stock. So I'm set as far as tube feed wooden stocked Marlin bolt action 22s.

An Marlin 883 stock will fit with just a bit of filing where the coil spring sits on the TR and you'll need new bottom metal (screws and trigger guard). I'm not sure on the color combinations available but laminates are available and will fit with a minimal amount of work.

Poking around, I've only seen the standard brown on brown but I'd suggest a call to Boyd's. They're quick to the market with new products and might have models not shown online. Otherwise Midway or Brownells should carry the boring brown if the primary goal is a laminate. You could also check Richards Microfit, again a call would be better.
