ok, i would like to know the steps i have to go through to own a suppressor in south carolina, and i would also like to know if i have to take more steps to own two suppressors (one for my rifle and one for my pistol) Please help, and thank you in advance

Just the federal stuff - nothing add'l that I know of in SC.

So, you have to buy your can(s), leave them with your dealer while paperwork is processed. Before submitting the paperwork, you need to get CLEO signoff, unless they are going to be owned by a trust, corp, etc. Once that is done, send paperwork to BATFE so they can process paperwork for your $200 tax stamp (per can). Once the tax stamp is returned from BATFE, go pick up your can(s).

Something like that. There's a lot of additional info on NFA process in this forum if you search...

i already own 2 cans and will be moving to sc this summer. in my travels there, i stopped into several class 3 dealer shops and asked around. you will also see the local sheriffs in their stores.

my advice would be to get acquainted with the dealers in your area and get their take on the local pd. it is in their best interest to point you in the right direction.

from what I hear owning, and using, a "can" is legal in Washington State, Before It had to be in a trust and you couldnt use it. Anyway, I want to build one! Its my understanding that you can buy the stamp accompanied with the plans of the "can" you intend to build. Looking for suggestions for style, Plans, etc. for a 30 cal can.
Suggestions?
