Ok sportsfans, here it is. Somewhere out there in the great Galactic Poker Game, the solar system as we know it changes hands. The new owners come & inspect the property & decide that basically only one change needs to be made, but it will be strictly enforced.

The Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America is to be held to exactly as written. No if, ands, or buts. It now applies worldwide.

Does the price of firearms change significantly? If so, why? Who dies of an apoplectic fit when the announcement is made? Does San Francisco slide into the sea? Does Japan become the country making more firearms than any other in the world?

What if the powers that be like the idea so much that they make it mandatory for every person on the face of the earth above the age of (?), to possess a firearm on their person at all times they are out of residence?

Is it "The End Of The World As We Know It"? :D

I Like This Man

He's sick and twisted.

I can respect that.

Price of guns goes up for a time, because of the immediate increased demand.

Hundreds of new manufacturers spring up, and the supply increases. Prices come down.

This goes back and forth for a few years. New materials and technologies turn firearms into a common commodity.

The new Sony 6.5 competes with the Hyundai Guard-Dog. Sony has exquisite machining, while Hyundai is robust and has $250 of custom 'smith work free with each new pistol.

In certain parts of the world crime increases. Missionaries arrive with Peace Corps personnel and offer free safety and marksmanship training to the oppressed population. Crime goes down.

Law firms go broke one after another, as people figure out better ways to settle things, and personal responsibility makes a global comeback.

Take THAT, you sick pervert.

The prices plummet as everybody with a modicum of mechanical engineering knowledge and machine shops start turning out their wildest fantasy guns. China starts turning out millions per day, selling them for $29.99 at wal-mart.
Crime levels stay the same at first, but once everyone is armed, the criminals are rarely alive by the time the police arrive, and the population of criminals plummets. Criminal lawyers are forced to find different lines of work due to lack of clients. The world becomes a polite place because those who become beligerant bullies realize everyone around them can drop them as quick as they please, as Sam Colt's equilization principle states.

Winchester comes out with Pre '64 style rail gun! Taurus drops the internal lock and adds "shock pulse" capability.
Lawyers have to find other work, perhaps manufacturing all the new cleaning kits needed.
Finestein, Schumer, Kerry, Kennedy all become far right conservatives.
(Hey, if we're gonna dream, might as well make it a big one)

Soft body armor development goes into mega-overdrive to the extent that a light, comfortable, armorsuit is developed. The "Bodyblock" suit looks like ordinary street clothes but is fully impervious to anything less than a .500 Magnum.

The game of paintball has a resurgance as .38 special rounds can now be safely used (along with the "Bodyblock" suit) and provide increased accuracy and range over silly old paintballs.

Support Incorporated releases it's new line of armored gauntlets with custom fitted bracers to allow handling of Colt's new line of .880 "BlockBuster" rounds (developed in direct response to the "BodyBlock" suit).

School childern are taken on daytrips to visit the special enclaves built to house the anti's and hoplophobes after they swamp mental-health facilities in one mass mental collapse.

ooohhh, I better quit now.:D
