Where they tell me to go
Little history first:
I bought my son a 2005 50th Anniversary Blackhawk when they came out since that was the year he was born. Great idea at the time:scrutiny:

However, we're due again in 2007 and I'm not sure what to get this son. The 50th Ann Ruger .44 was last year so we missed that one.

I saw the new Remington .17 Fireball that is marked with this year but I'm not into that. Might not be able to find ammo in 20 years for it. Also, Remington doesn't do the Classic special rifle each year now so that's gone.

Does anyone know of any special editions that are coming out in 2007? Looking for something that is marked with the year. However, could also go with a special model that is being introduced this year. Want my kid to have something special from the year he was born when he's of age.

Thanks,

I don't know of any offhand, but the year is young. Give it time. It doesn't matter if your buy the gun today or on December 31st, it's all 2007.

The SHOT show just ended. There were many new products introduced there. Try reading the various SHOT show threads to see if they mention anything in which you might be interested.

I agree, check out what was new at SHOT. Also another idea might be doing some of your own research and finding a model or submodel that was new 50, 75 or even 20yrs ago and then getting it engraved. But I agree a production special model might be cooler.

Now for the off topic part of this post

A buddy of mine did this same thing with stock for his kids, he bought IPO's the year each of his kids were born. Needless to say one of his kids was born the year Microsoft went public and he did more than very well.

So far I'm thinking about the Ruger .44 4in since it's the first year that it's been made in that version (think it's the Super Redhawk, not sure though, not so into their DA's)

Or, maybe the Browning T-Bolt since that was brought back this year.

I haven't seen any anniversary versions announced for this year. That would my first choice just since they're marked with the year.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks!

Not really sure its for '07 or not, but I like the limited run of the 6" blued
S&W model 29's that are being produced right now; except for that dang
"lawyer lock". It comes with the hard case; but isn't as nicely done as the
original ones were.

BTW, we've got one on display and the price tag is right a'round
the $800 mark~!

I would get him any handgun that doesn't have a safety key or magazine safety or anything else. By the time he is old enough to shoot in (in 5-10 years which is sad) you probably won't be able to buy a new pistol without those features.

But really, 2007 doesn't mark much.
