why dont the big companies (safariland and HKS) make more models of speedloaders better yet why doesnt smith and wesson or taurus etc... make speedloaders specificly for there guns?
ive looked into alot of revolvers and notice that a huge percentage of the newer ones dont get supported especialy if they utilize more than 5 or 6 shots id love to see someone come out with speedloaders for .22 revolvers it would be a blast to try and speed shoot with one of those just for SnG's hell id even like to see speedloaders for oddball guns like the .500 S&W or the 8 shot M&P 357 (that one really should have the option given its marketed for LEO)
whos on board for speedloaders for all opening cylinder revolvers hell lets go so far as get some for the old break open style western guns

**please only take this half seriously as i only want speed loaders for fun not life and death situations

*** also note i understand some use them in life/death situations and please take no offense

yea theres a few out there but my point was more to the fact that ALOT more revolvers get dissregarded than supported by speed loader companies

I'd like to see Safariland make a comp1 or comp2 speed loader for the 45AR guns. Right now only HKS does so I have to depend on gravity to load up.

There's no reason to. If the relevant dimensions of a S&W 10 and a Taurus 82 cylinder are identical, why would they invest in equipment to make speedloaders when someone else already does? If nothing else, they'd do what they already do with grips and subcontract it out to companies who specialize in this sort of thing. There's no money to be made in a "Smith and Wesson speedloader." If there was, you'd be seeing re-badged HKS or Safariland loaders being included as standard (for a price) or available from S&W. Sorta like the re-badged Hogue grips.

HKS makes "687" speedloaders for the 7-shot 686. The 8-shot S&Ws are, AFAIK, all cut for moonclips. I can't imagine Taurus makes more than a few hundred of their 8-shot .357s (m608) revolvers per year. The 7-shot .357 Taurus (built on the M44 frame) has been discontinued for years. Nevertheless, Maxfire makes 8-shot speedloaders. SL Variant makes 7- and 8-shot speedloaders for most revolvers that I'm aware of (even, it seems, that 7-shot Taurus that's been discontinued for nearly a decade). Good luck getting the SL Variants, though. They couldn't sell enough to make it worth the import tariff, last I heard. That should tell you something.

I can't really think, off hand, of any revolver for which you can't at least get an HKS speedloader for. Safariland doesn't sell speedloaders for 7- and 8-shot revolvers because most of their speedloaders get sold to competitors, and the revolvers they fit are illegal in USPSA/IPSC/IDPA revolver divisions (6-shot only).

id love to see someone come out with speedloaders for .22 revolvers

This has been addressed. Both HKS and another company make speedloaders for hi-cap .22 revolvers.

id even like to see speedloaders for oddball guns like the .500 S&W

TK Custom will cut your S&W 500 or 460 cylinder for moonclips. If there's enough demand, either HKS or Safariland will manufacture speedloaders for it. I can pretty much guarantee, however, that there isn't.

or the 8 shot M&P 357 (that one really should have the option given its marketed for LEO)

It's really not, regardless of the fact that they stamp "military and police" on the barrel shroud.

They're really not disregarded. You can get speedloaders for practically anything, you just have to look pretty hard for anything much more obscure than a S&W model 10.

I agree. It sucks. Recruit more revolver shooters and this will change.

Actually, Taurus is still making 7-shot 357s, such as the Taurus 627 Tracker. If it's still listed on their website, I wouldn't think it is discontinued.

The HKS 587A speedloaders work fine with that revolver, although you have to fiddle with them a bit with .357 ammo because of the handgrip. It's still usable though and faster than loading each round one-by-one.

thanks for the info pwrtool i didnt know there were other companies besides HKS and safariland

as for the 7 shot taurus they still make a few in there current lineup
Model 617
Model 817
Model 66
Model 627 Tracker

even an 8 shot Model 608

as for moon clips im not a big fan unless its shooting an auto cartridge like 45ACP or 9mm

the only reason i mention factory loaders is for the odd ball stuff that companies come up with like the M&P TRR8 or anything thats not "normal" i.e. more than 5-6 shots, chamberings other than .357 .44 .45lc .38 etc... i dont expect smith or taurus or any other company to waist there time makeing loaders that are already out there if you cant find a 6 shot .357 loader your either computer ignorant or cant find a gun shop anywhere

and maybe im a bit strange but id buy a few .500 loaders what can i say i like to play when i shoot so sometimes i like to see what i can do accuratly AND fast and loading singles takes time...

... and i cant be the only one

Oops. Yeah, when I thought "7-shot Taurus" the only thing that came to mind was the big one the made on their 44-size frame. Their 7-shot medium frame revolvers that came out some years later to compete with the 686+ didn't even occur to me.
