I am in the process of building another rifle in 7x57 and have read online that Speer has seperate load data for modern actions as opposed to the older '93's and such. My new rifle will be of modern design and I was wondering which Speer manual I need to get for this data. Anyone having quick access to their Speer manual please let me know which volume they have and if it has two different data sets for the 7x57. Thanks in advance guys!

Speer 11th and 13th that I have have 7X57mm Mauser data and they both state that, "The Saami pressure limit is 46000 cup. These loads are limited to 50000 cup for use in modern bolt action rifles only." They say to use starting loads only for early military rifles such as the Mauser 1892, 93, 95, and Remington-Lee and Remington Rolling Block rifles.
I don't have the latest 14th edition Speer Manual but earlier 11th and 13th list data for modern bolt actions. 13th Edition says that new commercial sporters and Model 98 Mausers in good condition can handle somewhat heavier loads listed in the manual.
Speer 13th has data for Speer 110 grain, 115, 120, 130, 145, 160, and 175 grain bullets.

Speer #13 does not have separate data for modern vs older Mauser actions. On page 230 it has a disclaimer stating that it's (Speer) data is for stronger modern action and developed at 50K CUP instead of the old 46K CUP.

Correct, it does not have separate data for old versus modern. It does say that "owners of Model 93 and 95 Mausers should not exceed the STARTING LOADS." They also go on to say that if you have a sporterized military rifle and are unsure of the action model that you should take it to a gunsmith to identify whether your action is safe with modern loads.

Ok, I guess I misunderstood about the seperate data tables. I'll go ahead and pick up the new manual to get the data I need. Thanks for your help guys.
