Speer TMJ Load Data for 45 ACP, 200gr SWC

I picked up a box of 100 bullets and would like to try these out. My Lymans 49th edition manual does not list these bullets.

Does anyone have any information on the Speer TMJ 45acp, 200 grain SWC with Winchester 231 powder? I haven’t been able to find any load data and want to make sure I’m in the safe zone.

Thanks in advance.
Mike

Same load you are using with the Ranier will shoot just fine. I have interchanged the Ranier 200 gr SWC and the Hornady 200 Gr FMJ-CT (SWC) and they show almost the same velocities using the same load.

The Lyman #49 does list the Speer 200 grain Gold-Dot.
Use that data.

The TMJ is the same bullet as the GD without the hollow point and a different nose shape.

They are both plated jacket 200 grain bullets.

Speer #13 lists the same data for both of them.

Using WW-231, seated to 1.275 OAL, they show:
5.6 Starting = 769 FPS
6.3 MAX = 857 FPS.

What does the BC and SD mean in the Lyman Book. I think BC stands for ballistics coefficient. Thanks for the help.

Ballistics Coefficient & Sectional Density.

In simple terms
BC = How easily it slips through the air.
SD = Weight to length ratio.
