I have a long association with Ruger rifles and my Mini-14 will continue to be my principal "sporting rifle" for probably the rest of my life. But when my wife suggested we get ARs for our sons in case Hillary won, I ended up buying the S&W Sport II. The decision was largely based on the fact one was $50 cheaper than the Ruger and when I went to buy the second one, the Sport II was $100 less.
I have not regretted either purchase.
