I've been in the market for a .22 pistol ever since my wife decided how much she liked my ..her P22. Nothing has really spoken to me until today. A local shop just put a very clean (IMO) High Standard Sport King into their display case. I have always thought the that long barrel version of it and Colt's Woodsman were two of the most elegant looking field grade .22 cal pistols ever made (the original Browning Challenger probably belongs right in there as well). Oh the temptation...the gun is as old as I am...but shows less wear...I'm very happy with my find:) :

Shoots great to boot!

Gorgeous! I bet it shoots as nicely as it looks.

With the lever take-down button that little beauty must be more than a half-century old.

I love old High Standards. Nothing feels like them or shoots like them. IMO they are the best value for a .22 pistol.
Yours looks like an excellent example.

You know your High Standards! By it's serial#, I'm thinking 1952. That half-century thing is making me feel old:uhoh:

What did you pay?
Just under $300

Thank you all for the nice comments. It does shoot very well:)

Greg
