spotting scope

i know it's cheap and you get what you pay for, but for 50 bucks is this a decent deal? i dont need a super expensive spotting scope, right now i just use my 3-9X scope on my hunting rifle, but it would be nice o have one. any useful opinions??

How far do you shoot?

Up to 100 yds, you are better off sticking with the 9X of your scope and using shoot n see style targets.

If you are contemplating 300, 600 or 1000 and more or are thinking of using the scope to spot game and or in low light then you need serious glass.

In that case my advice is to save up over time with whatever method works for you and in the mean time read up on spotting scopes and tripods here http://www.snipershide.com/

I "wasted" $140.00 on a cheap scope and tripod that tortured me for years until I finally ponied up for a proper setup. With hindsight, I should have put that $$ in a piggy bank, added to it whenever I could until I could buy what I eventually got. Would have gotten it sooner and saved $140!

Also, think gently used for sale by members on this and similar websites.
