Does anyone know what the factory spring weight is for a Taurus PT-1911?

I'm thinking I'd like to get a slightly heavier spring but can't seem to find out how many pounds the stock one is. (Though I'd guess around 16 lb like the stock 1911).

Well, I would guess 16 lbs like a real 1911, too.
What is your purpose for a stronger spring?

You could buy a Wolff Calibration Pack and swap springs in and out til you got one that suited you.

I would agree it's 16 pounds. An 18# would most likely work fine.

Feeding JHP. I've polished everything up and such and still have to occasionally just barely nudge the slide to feed the first round of JHP out of the magazine. Feeds all the rest just fine so I figure a -just slightly- stronger spring might solve the issue.

Of course the pistol really is still in the "break in" phase so it may, ultimately, be unnecessary.

It's a pretty light one. I'm not sure on the poundage, but both the recoil spring and magazine springs are pretty light. Also, the leaf for trigger return, sear, and grip safety is pretty light on one of my Tauri, as well. They're pretty lightly sprung overall, come to think of it.
