Hey guys, I just got a Springfield GI used and had a slight problem... So when I got the pistol I did a detailed check for wear and everything looked good besides a little problem with the slide stop. It sticks out a little more than 1/16th of an inch from the frame but isnt damaged in any way! There is what appears to be a tiny burr in the hole the knub on the slide stop enters. The stop fits perfectly if the slide isnt on but if the slide is on it wont go in all the way. So my question is does the hole in the frame need deburring? If it did it wouldnt be more than the thickness of your thumbnail... So thanks in advance!

Chris: That is a hard question to answer w/o seeing your pistol close up. However Springfield Amory has a "lifetime warranty" on all the firearms that they make. Having said that, I had a problem with my 2 YO M1A rifle and they fixed it n/c and returned back within two weeks. They also sent me a prepaid shipping label to return it. Give those nice people at Springfield a call...you have nothing to lose but time.
