a guy wants to sell his springfield 1911 GI model for $475. i dont really know what those guns go for slightly used. it only has a box of ammo through it. is that a good deal. im a noob w/ 1911s so feedback would be great. thanks.
thanks for the feedback. i went ahead a bought the gun. i gave him $475 cash. it looked like it was a lot more used than he let on, but still nice. the park finish hand some scratches in it and the wood grips has a little wear. still....it came with 2 mags and i dont think i would have found a better deal off GB when you add shipping and transfer fee. now i just cant wait to shoot this thing!
I have a Springfield Champion .45 and I have one word for it-dependable.
It's a rugged solid weapon which I know will operate in any condition as long as I take care of it.
ok, upon request, here are some photos i took with my phone. sorry, i didnt have my camera w/ me at the time. the purchase was for the gun, two mags, a box of ammo and a holster. i did not get the original box.
i tried to take a detailed photo of the scratches. they dont really bother me. im just so happy to finally own this model firearm in honor of it's 100th anniversary. god i love this gun. i should have owned this gun a long time ago.... back when i got my first M14. it's just classic. just classic! it just feels so right in my hand. no other handgun has felt this way.
i have been bitten by the 1911 bug, bad!!!
all in all.....i dropped $475 for a gun i have not even fired yet......and im in love. im taking it to the range today!
I have one of the original SA reproductions with the plastic [military] style
grips, and parkerized finish; as it was given too be by a very close friend
who passed away on 02 MAY 2010. It came in a green and white card-
board box, with manual of arms and a cleaning brush; NEVER to be sold
traded, or bartered for~!
