I'm New to this Forum, Actually Have never been a member on one but I'm not new to Guns and shooting.I have learned allot here in a short time and I seem to log in just to read the post. Hope some of you old timers or long timers can give me some insight. So here's my Dilemma.

I bought this piece from a retailer who had gotten it at an estate auction, looks to have never been fired and I have never fired it.
I love anything Colt Especially Pistols. But i cannot find allot of info on this one. They made only 800 of these in 1994. Not in the gun Bible, have seen one on Gun Broker Started at $1000. I bought it thinking it could be a good piece to have that was somewhat rare.
I was thinking of trading it for something that could be shot, { I have other shooters Colt 1911, Ruger GP100 etc., guess I just like to trade } Knowing if I shot it the value would go down, it could get marked up or something. But before I trade it and I have an offer that I feel is fair for what I know about it. And that is the reason for the post . EDUCATE ME.
Figured if I knew more about it I may just keep it or at least get a better deal. All Opinions and information on this gun are appreciated. Thanks in advance, and Happy shooting.

It was a Lew Horton commissioned piece from '94. 2 models were made....the Bicentennial edition and the Premier Bicentennial.

The numbers my info gives might be incorrect, but.....400 of the former at 1000 MSRP and 200 of the latter at 1213 MSRP

In your opinion have these been good collectors, Increased in Value, i.e. the 75th and 150th or does anyone know.

I'm just not one to get rid of Colts, trade yes Colts no.

All guns seem to hold most value depending on care of course, I guess i'm on the fence on trading or keeping. I would hate 5 years from now to see them go thru the roof, but who knows the future.
Thanks for the input
