That is very sweet looking. Another very nice and thorough review. Let us know how it shoots when you get time. All it needs now is a gold or brass bead front sight.

Thanks, glad you liked the review.

I'm considering a bead, actually, but I'll see how it shoots before changing the front sight.

I'll let you all know.......mine's at SA getting refinished and a gold bead front sight. The finish was due to Bud's (ONLY MY OPINION) letting everyone and their brother handle it and, I think, shoot it. I sent it in to SA on their dime and they are going to refinish it. I enclosed a check for $80 for them to put the bead on there while they had.
I would have had them take the trigger down to 4lbs, but then I would have had to pay shipping, even though they were doing warranty work on it? My 'smith will take it down to 4lbs for $75, so why spend $130 (SA charge with shipping).

Are you getting a reparkerizing or something else? Post some pics of the new sight when you get it.

I didn't ask for any upgraded finish, so I'm guessing it'll be park'd. This is going to be a build gun for me, so right now I'm not worried too much about the finish........but I want to be the one to scratch it. I will post some pics of the new front sight when I get it back. After that a trigger job is a must (IMHO) because the 5.5lbs isn't even close to want I want. I may even replace the sear and hammer to bring it down to 3.5lbs......and a Harrison fixed rear - we'll see.

I took the Range Officer back to the range yesterday to try out the Harrison sight. 250 rounds later and I still like it. It did change my POA/POI relationship a little bit as it now strikes about 1" lower at 15 yards.

No problems of any kind running the Magtech 230gr FMJ through the pistol. I was pleased with the accuracy and put up this group at 15 yards shooting offhand (no rest). Four out of five into about one inch. I jerked the trigger a bit on the flyer.

I know I said it shoots low, but I quit using a six o'clock hold to shoot this group. The original target sight was right on with the six o'clock hold (at the factory setting) but this one works better if I cover the desired POI with the front sight.

I should have a report on the new Dawson Precision tritium front sight in a week or so after I get it installed and shoot with it.

Received the Dawson Precision tritium front sight and installed it yesterday. It's a very good combo with the Harrison.

I know this is a bit of an old thread but how are you liking the gun so far. I have an opportunity to get the gun for $690 out the door and i am thinking about selling my CZ P-07 for some extra cash to get it vs me getting an RIA Tactical and keeping my P-07.

I still like it very much. I am taking a 10-8 Consulting Duty 1911 course with it this coming weekend. I may drop in an Ed Brown magwell if I have time to test I before the class, but otherwise it's great with the sight change I did earlier. If I only used it on the range I would have kept the adustable sight.

I really like this gun.

So much so that I picked one up!

On Saturday I took it to the range. FWIW the range is a great place to go on the last day of the 6-day deer season in NJ. There were only a handful of folks there!

The Range Officer handled and shot very nicely. I put 50 rounds of FMJ 230g Independence ammo (brass marked Blazer) and 50 rounds of FMJ 230g American Eagle (Federal) through it.
Either it liked the Federal better, or I was getting used to it. I'm not a good shooter but by the end of the session I was VERY happy with the Range Officer. :)

those are excellent quality, especially for the price. i wish they'd release a model with the same fit, but with fixed sites and a single sided safety. i would buy one at that point.

yeah, i know i can put a harrison fixed site, and fit my own single sided safety, but i'd rather not spend the money.
