I am looking for a compact pistol and seen this , SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 9MM SUB-COMPACT XD PISTOL , anyone know anything about them or have something eles for me to look at .
Was kind of woundering how well any of them shot with that short little barrel .

I've got one.
Shoots well, but shot really high. Had to file down rear sight ~010" as it was shooting about 6" low at 25yds.

It's more accurate than several Glocks I've had. It also shoots cast bullets as well as it does match grade jacketed.

I consider it a keeper, as I won it in a pistol match. It's now my "car" gun. It came with two magazines. I bought a third and bought extended magazine base covers with the finger hook.

Only complaint is that it's unavoidably "bulky" due to the width of the grips due to the double stack, and ditto the slide. I keep it in an Uncle Mikes kydex holster in the glove compartment.

Not really sure what you mean by that. Do you mean accuracy?

Whatever, I have the XD9SC and love it.
No, it's not a "target" pistol with it's short barrel and short sight radius, but it was never intended to be.
It is, however, more than accurate for it's intended SD purpose.

It's a little fat to be a deep conceal carry piece, but it hides well in an IWB holster under a loose shirt or jacket.
I especially like it's ability to use the short mags for carry or the high-cap, longer mags for home defense. It's really a nicely balanced, reliable pistol that would never leave me feeling undergunned.

I have an XD SC in .40, and it shoots quite well. I also bought a 9MM conversion barrel for it, which shoots well too, although not to the same point of impact.

You're not going to hear anybody say anything bad about it. My wife has one and it's a breeze to shoot. It's a quality pistol, only Glock fans have something against em'.

Good lord... not even a few posts into it and the crap begins to flow.

Here is a Glock fan that has nothing against them. I'd rather have the 4" compact though. The sub-compact is too fat for a sub-compact IMO. If I am going to have that thickness, I prefer to have more barrel, and capacity. If you want a really small 9mm, check out the Kahr line... or the slightly larger Glock 26.

The XD9 SC is however a great little shooter, and you might find that it fits your needs.

I have the XDSC in 40SW and love it. I looked at other sub comps and this one fit my handd best. Shoots well, very managable recoil, very accurate. Great purchase.

I have a 45acp compact and the 9mm sub compact and I like both of them but I like shooting the sub compact better. I was thinking the shorter barrel was going to be a bad deal but after shooting it it is a dream to shoot.

It seems that a great deal of Glock fans do have something against them though. That's great that you can like both, but it seems that Glock-ites seem to despise the XD. It does go both ways though. Type in a google search of XD vs Glock.

To me, the XD sub comp feels too top heavy. I prefer the M&P sub comp to the XD - just personal preference - fits my hands better.
