That is in gorgeous shape. I wonder how much it was used for the bluing is in such good color. Or was it reblued at some point?

Springfield pistols use a distinctive magazine (made at Springfield) with folded over and brazed bottom lips as well as a copper plated section at the rear top of the walls and a lanyard loop on the floor plate. The magazine also has a distinctive coloring due to the brazing and heat treatment. A few Springfield magazines have been found without lanyard loops, however it is uncertain if these were ever issued with any pistol.

Think it may have been reblued ages ago (perhaps arsenal refinish)?
Most likely not arsenal refinished. The arsenal wasn’t to worried about marking and some if not most would have been buffed and polished more. The 1911’s were replaced by the 1911A1, starting in 1942. Some of the 1911 did stay in service for a few more years, but not many.
In my pic above, the top 1911 has been refinished. But whoever did it, years ago, did a good job.
Here’s what it looked like when I bought it.

And after removing the black paint someone had put on it. I was lucky to have an original set of grips in my parts box.

What kind of paint would they use on a gun? I've heard of some antique weapons having black paint applied to them by people who didn't know much about weapon finishing.
