Here for your perusal is Colt Model 1911 1918 production pistol serial number 257754 which was 1 of 3900 pistols shipped on March 27, 1918 to the Commanding Officer Springfield Armory MA.

I'd say it did since the Germans launched Operation Michael on 21 March 1918 which was the first in a series of offensives designed to defeat the British and French Armies before the AEF arrived in force enough to tip the balance in favor of the Allies and make a German victory impossible. By May 1918, 318,000 American soldiers were due in France, with another million planned to arrive before August. So I imagine these 1911s were being shipped over to the AEF in France as fast as possible.
