Springfield Armory XD/XDM Pistols Final Test Quiz Questions

I am semi-retired and I am taking a self-passed and self-taught Armorers course and now I am on the Springfield Armory XD/XDM Pistols. I hope to become a part-time light Gunsmith in the future.

There are over 60 quiz questions covering this firearm and I have answered most of them. During my study and research I am having some problems related to some of the following quiz questions. Either I am not sure of the correct answer or I have conflicting answers.

Can you help me determine the correct answers for these few final 5 quiz questions? Please correct my wrong answers!

Thanks for your help.

Note #40. The recoil spring assembly on the XDM pistols
a) captive
b) not captive

Note #41. What part of the XDM pistol is held down when the takedown lever (disassembly lever) is in the upward position and the slide is pulled rearward (when field stripping)?
a) The trigger
b) The striker
c) The sear

Note #42. There are two springs in the XDM pistol that are not found in the XD pistol, what are they?
a) The disassembly lever spring
b) The striker safety lever spring
c) The sear spring
d) The trigger bar spring
e) The slide stop lever spring
f) a and b
g) a and d
h) c and d
i) b and c

Note #43. The XDM pistol has an additional part inside of the gun that the XD does not have, it is called the disassembly bar. - True or False

Note #44. The peg on the take down lever (disassembly lever) of the XDM pistol has two functions, what are they?
a) To push the spring that detents the take down lever (disassembly lever) down
b) To stabilize the trigger's pivoting motion
c) To activate the disassembly bar
d) a and b
e) a and c
f) b and c

#40: I'm assuming (correct me if I'm wrong) that a captive spring is one in which the spring and guide rod are one part, and a not-captive spring is one in which the spring and guide rod are separate, where they come apart easily upon breakdown. If this is correct, then the XDm full size models do not have a captive spring, and the XDm 3.8" models do.

#42 and 43 can probably be found by comparing the parts list in the manuals.

Hoppy,

When you, with every forum's help, upon which you have posted, graduate and become a gunsmith, will you then seek the many forum's help in working on guns?

If so, I propose that you cut us all in for a percentage of your profits.

Now there is an excellent question that any self-taught self-passed "light gunsmith" will be able to answer without assistance!
