Hey Folks,

I'm looking to upgrade my Springfield GI. I like the King's Hardball sights and they make a tenon size for springfield slides, but I can't seem to order them anywhere. I had a backorder on Brownells but they stopped carrying the product. King's website is up but my Email bounced, and I called but the phone just rings.

Any other suggestions for sights for this beast? They don't necessarily have to be drop in, but I'm not looking to spend half of what I spent on my gun either.

Thanks

I used Trijicon

I upgraded the sights on my GI with Trijicon. I just bought the wide front tenon and filed it to fit. It's not as hard as you might think. I'm not a gunsmith but I did all the work myself and I fired several hundred rounds at the range with no problems. You'll need a tool for the rear though. There is some really great advice in this forum on how to "do it yourself".

Thanks for the reply I was looking at those, where did you buy them if you don't mind me asking.

I upgraded my GI sights with Wilson's GI Three dot sights. They worked great. Bought them directly from Wilson Combat.

I used to install many of King's hardball sights on customer's guns and they are a great sight. All of their 1911 parts were high quality. Sadly King's Gunworks is no more.

I seem to recall some news a while back that King's was downsizing their business, but I thought they were still going to have parts available. Have you tried calling King's directly?
