There are two types of Mil Spec, the GI and the 'regular.' I'm refering to the 'regular' Mil spec, not the GI.

Ok, what's the differences between the two? Anything a novice like myself would notice? From what I've read in the catalog, there doesn't seem to be that big of a difference. Maybe a couple things. Can anybody explain this to me?

Thanks

Justin

The Milspec is a basic 1911 with 3 dot sights, a lowered ejection port, and forward slanted slide serations.

The GI is an attempt to copy the original 1911A1. Comes close, but it's not 100% by any stretch. It has vertical slide serations, small original style sights, and a small/orginal style ejection port.

Both have arched MSH's, short triggers, and the ILS.

The Loaded is a different category.

The Springfield Armory web page has nice photos of their different models and lists finish options as well.
