Hi Guys,
I had a friend bring in a single shot Springfield Model 944 12 Gauge...Disassembled
I verified that all of the parts were present against the schematic. I'm pretty sure where the hammer spring goes but the trigger spring has me a little twisted. It has two lower legs...any idea where they go to?

I think the Springfield, Savage, Fox and Stevens might be the same layout.

Thanks in advance!

I've worked on my fathers old 940 recently and I can assure you that the two legs of the spring point forward. The square part of the spring goes under the trigger with the pin going through the spring and trigger. Now the hard part is keeping the locking bolt spring in place while you are putting the trigger group back in. Use a thick greas to hold the spring into the hole in the locking lug. Or sometimes the spring will fit tightley onto the 'tit' on the trigger group before installing it............Good luck............Bob
