Springfield SAR-8 Info

I have a chance on an HK clone SAR-8. The guy wants $1000, its pre-ban with a large Tasco scope (with the range-finding reticule), mounts and a Harris bipod. Are these Springfields any good? Any thoughts appreciated, information on these seems hard to come by. Thanks

CDNN has them right now (not preban) for $799 with 4 hicap mags. If it's preban, does it have more than 2 evil features on it atm? If not, there is little point in the preban name. Secondly, there is little point at all if the AWB sunsets in September. Then you can do whatever you want with one.

SAR-8s, from what I understand, are HKs built under license. The only problem is, SA doesn't make them anymore. If it breaks, I believe someone said that SA would only give you credit toward one of their other firearms. Something you might want to check into.
