Guys I have someone wanting to trade me their Springfield Ultra Compact .45 ACP, for my Sig Sauer P238 SAS Custom Shop 380 auto. Do you all think it is worth it?
I think the Springfield is the Custom loaded model, parkerized, he says 200 on the round count and two years old. The Sig is six months old and has 150 or so rounds through it.

Anyone here carry the Ultra Compact? Is the Ultra Compact any good? Help me please, I am pulling my hair out here.

i have the springer ultra compact in the stainless. i love the thing. it has shot well from day one even for a small pistol. not a single malfunction during the time that ive had it (around 300 rounds down the tube).

i like the night sights and they are about as accurate as standard 3 dot sights. the low profile grips are a plus. 6+1 rounds of .45 acp goodness.

i carry it and it is a little on the heavy side but not enough to be burdensome.

i love mine but i have never had any experience with the sig.

Well I have been back and forth on this a hundred times today, and right now I am going to keep the Sig. The Sig is really easy to carry and conceal, But I really want a 45. If it was the stainless that he was wanting to trade I wouldn't even think twice just because of what the stainless is worth.

Any chance of a trial period before you decide for good?

Well I don't know the guy and didn't ask. It's a local internet site and not even sure where he lives.

I am worried the Compact well be hard for me to conceal at times or be to heavy, I have never carried anything but the Sig.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm sure I'll change my mind several more times.

I do not know the Sigs very well.

I have and LOVE, my Springer Ultra Compact

So yes, if at anytime you can get one and keep your Sig, best of both worlds.

I have a SA Loaded Ultra Compact and I love it. It has been the best out of the box small 1911 I have ever owned. I had the trigger worked over by Wilson Combat. It's just a sweetheart. Can't say the same of a couple of the 3" guns I tried years ago. I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I'm with the others. I have the Springfield UC stainless and absolutely love the thing. It is 100% reliable with whatever 'food' I give it, WAY more accurate than it has to be, carries very easily and is comfortable to shoot. It is a bit of a heavy little chunk, but in a belt holster (either IWB or OWB) it is no problem to carry all day every day.

Going from .380 to .45: Oh, yeah! I'd go for it in a second.

I would never give up one of my SIG's, but I have never shot a P238. However, I have nothing bad to say about my SS Ultra Compact. It has been perfect, is very accurate, and is about the only one of my 1911's that ever finds it's way to my holster. In short, it's a great pistol!

You know I looked at a used Colt yesterday for $849.00. Then I looked at a Springfield EMP 40S&W, man am I in love! It was priced at $1199.00, but found a new one somewhere else for $1075.00. I'm going to have to save up for a long time. Lol.
