i picked up a v10 ultracompact last week.went out and shot it and i shoots very very low.functions fine and also groups fine....just hits 16inches low.i tried different ammo....same results.i googled it and found this is very common for a v10.and most replace the sights 2 cure the problem.i was shooting @ 13yards ...(normal pistol range).now witch sights do i buy?i would like some that will not require any milling (save money on the install) don't see the need for night sights.just want a very rugged sight that will solve my problem. sorry i punched 1991 by accident its a 1911

I own a Springfield V10 uc. In the way of aftermarket sights you will have to look around and find what you like. Its a matter of opinion and preference.

As a new owner of the V10 I will give you some advice before you run into an issue or the Jam'O matic nay sayer. V10's have a 2 piece recoil spring guide rod. the next time you clean yours unthread the smaller rod it just screws in. degrease it and red loctite it back into place. Red will allow you the take it apart when your recoil spring is ready to be replaced. if the rod comes loose you will know it. This will cause a jam fail to feed. locktite will keep that from happening.

also buy quality mags for your Springfield. compacts don't like weak mag springs.

hope this info is useful took me almost selling my favorite pistol to find this info.

Enjoy your new sights what ever they may be. I like plain jane block style no dot sights. dots just get dirty really fast with the porting up front.
