Springfield XD 45ACP vs Glock 21sf vs FNP 45acp

Ok here it is, i have all three of these pistols in fullsize versions, i'm trying to move some stuff around to make room for more firearms,(AR15 possibly) as your aware alot us gun nuts seem to always do, ...My question is can you convince me as to which one of these you would definitly keep in your collection, of handguns.A Little background i do have other firearms 1911's i love, Revolvers, etc, some Rifles. Now i've shot all three of these,45's they all shoot very nice but i dont need 3 polymer 45acp pistols, ...and it's wierd but from all three you would'nt expect me to say that i kinda favor the FNP -AWESOME TRIGGER FOR A POLYMER,VERY LOW RECOIL,ACCURATE,ETC...(pls try and stick to these pistols mentioned, i know theres other brand polymers out there)What's your experience with these?

I've owned Springfield and Glock in the past. I kept the Glock, but understand others prefer the Springfield. I have never owned the FN, but have a sneaky feeling I just might prefer it to the Glock. I am impressed by the feel of the ones I have handled and have heard mostly positive things about the FN.

I currently have a 21sf so I'm not exactly looking to switch but the FNP45 looks very interesting.

How are mag prices though, and part availability?

I handled the FNP-45 and was totally not impressed.

In a poly frame .45 acp, I'd go with the XD, M&P or Glock 21-SF hands down over the FN

I dont have any experience with any of those, but I do have a G20, and I take it to the woods with me all the time. Its a great pistol. The only problem I have with it is that I need to practice more with it, and thats not the pistols fault.

I have owned two SA XDs , one glock 21, and one glock 21 SF. The only one I still have is the Glock 21SF. I have done some tweaking to the Glcok 21SF to fit it more to me and what I like. There was nothing wrong with the XDs, besides the trigger pull and reset was horrible. I just could not get my trigger finger trained from the Glocks to the XDs, thats just me though. The XD's ergonomics and grip angle were superior to the glock's.
I also liked the wide metal trigger on the XD. I owned the service XD45 and the Tactical XD 45......and in comparison, the service model was just as accurate as the tactical. I dont know if that was a fluke or if I had a bad barrel, but the tactical was no more accurate than the service model. I had no FTF or FTE problems from the XDs, and they shot everything I fed them. On to Glock......

I am a known promoter of glocks.....no I dont work for them , although I wish I did because it would be a better job than I have now. I like glocks for what they are: simple, reliable , tough, easy to train, easy to use/employ, and easy to work on/customize. I do not like the ergos of the glock , especially the grip angle.
I wish glock would add a little more flare to their pistols, and do something about the grip angle. I know some out there that like the grip angle, thats fine, but I hear more complaints from people who dont. I have had no jams or problems from any glock I have owned, been issued, or fired. I have owned over 30 different glocks in my lifetime and I have never been disappointed with their performance. BUT.....they are what they are.
Not everyone likes a gock , which is fine, not everyone likes a toyota. I purchased my glock 21 and loved it. I always felt that the grip was just a bit too big for my hands. I didnt mind, I trained it out and continued shooting the big 21. When the Glock 21SF came out, I was rabid, I wanted it , but no one in my area could get it. I waited for another month or so and finally a shop in another town got one in. I went and looked at it. I had it in my hand for about 15 seconds then I told the guy I would take it. I still have it. I have done trigger work to it and I have had a grip reduction done to it to remove the palm swell near the heel of the back strap. My 21 SF now comes up on target just like my 1911s. Enough about the glock.

I have never owned a FNP, so I cant really say anything about them. I have heard good things about them. I have looked at them at the local shops, cant say much , they just didnt do anything for me.

With what I have said, the XD can be made better ,IMO, with a trigger job or a trigger pack kit. I would keep the Glock 21 SF.

Keep the XD. It has the simplicity and reliability of a Glock, along with a grip safety. The FN is probably a very fine pistol, but I prefer a polymer gun to be striker fired.

If you have made up your mind to keep only one of them & you like the FNP the best-What reason would you have for keeping one of the others instead of it? I'm just asking I haven't shot any of them in .45. I have an XD-40, I have shot a couple of Glocks in .40, & have not shot or handled a FNP though everything I have read about them has been good. I just kinda figure you should keep what works best for you.

Thx guys, you know you are right, but since i posted this ,some i've kinda convinced myself that i really can't part with any of them!!! i might just keep my three sons ,(who am i kidding). They all go bang when i pull the trigger,and offer so much in ther own unique way, to you guy's that have not tried the FNP45, ''AT THE RANGE'' AWESOME SHOOTER, from the 3 pistols this one has the lowest felt recoil,perfect for follow up shot's IMO, The glock 21sf for some reason ,has the most recoil muzzle flip to me? But WOW what a great shooter, The XD45 feels the best in the Hand ergonomicaly,...

I bought an FN and I absolutely love it. It is large and should be restricted to those with large hands, but it is fantastically accurate, reliable and nice looking. It is simple to operate and I bought it because I like a double action autos over striker fired pieces. It's a great value, come with 3 magazines. Stainless construction, well machined, made in the US, huge capacity, up to 15+1 with factory Hi-Cap mags. I considered the XD as well, find Glocks to be ugly. I like a pretty gun, and the FN definately won that contest in my opinion. Hope it helps.

If the FN works best for you, keep the FN -- the other 2 should be relatively simple to replace in the pre-owned mrkt if you need to

I don't like how Glocks fit or point for me.

I like my XD45 as a practical tool, but the FN is a gorgeous gun (never thought I'd say that about a polymer pistol). I'd keep the FN if you like it.

I would have to vote for keeping the FNP45.

Personally, I would not get rid of a gun that I did not dislike for some reason. More guns = more joy.

If I had a hard time deciding here is the factor I would use to tip the scales and that is parts. Mainly I would favor the Glock because as far as I know all of the parts, plus many aftermarket ones too, are readily available. The same can't be said for the XD. I bought a used XD9 with a bad extractor, much to my dismay Springfield would not sell me one and there are none I could find aftermarket. BUT the XDs have a lifetime warranty when the gun is returned to them, so for $45.00 FedEX charge (that's how they insisted it be shipped) they replaced the extractor AND the locking block. Basically they rebuilt the gun returning it to factory specs, test fired it and returned it to me FedEX overnight at no charge. Altogether $45.00 well spent on my part and I am happy, so if spare parts are important to you Glock is the choice but if Springfield's repair policy appeals to you then the nod goes to the XD. I would not consider getting rid of the FN because guns with nice triggers are hard to come by and it will appreciate in value the most of the three guns.

Never get rid of a gun.

I own an XD45, and have shot the Glock 40 and FNP 40.

If the FNP 45 is the same as the FNP 40, you'll want to keep your trigger finger uncomfortably high on the trigger or you'll rub a sore on it.
The Glock is, well, its a Glock. I shot it just "okay".
The XD has ergonomics (re: grip angle) most like the 1911. The 45 compact is the one I own.
