Earlier this spring I bought a like-NIB Ruger SR9c. Monday I went to the range with a couple boxes of 115gr Monarch ball. Here’s what I did.
Target is standard Champion rifle target; 1” squares. I was shooting at 7 yards – someone left a stand base there and with my back being twitchy I decided I didn’t want to move it.
(Two diamonds on the left were with my SP101 .357, 158gr JHP SD stuff. Not bad, but not great.)
Started with the SR9c on the two right diamonds and center diamond as quick, aimed fire: two rounds per target, shift aim, two rounds, etc. Tactical reload with fresh mag, and continue shooting. Did that twice, IIRC.
Then, I shot the center target doing some snap shooting (holding gun at low ready, bringing it quickly up, gain a flash sight picture and squeeze off a round or three). I also had some fun shooting THROUGH the hole I made in the center.
The blue tape on the left was my last mag full – just to make sure I wasn’t fooling myself.
The more I shoot this gun, the more I really like it.
