There is an Appleseed scheduled for the St Louis area on 26-27 April and I am trying to take my 4 oldest kids. Does anyone in the area have any .22 they would be willing to sell?
Thanks!

Navy, wish I could help you out, as it sounds like it will be a great experience for you and your kids.

Im a bit outside your area (near Peoria, IL - about 3hrs drive), so not really worth a trip. While I cant cover all your needs, if you happened to be up in the Peoria area, I could part with a couple hundred rounds at cost for a good cause.

Otherwise, good luck, I know .22lr is not easy to find around here.

The cabelas in hazlewood sometimes has it on the shelf though you're usually limited to 100rds per visit.

I know a few walmarts around here do get frequent shipments, if you talk to the person at the sporting goods counter they're usually pretty free with the information on when the next one comes.

I've never been willing to stand in line so early, but I hear the walmart in St Peters gets in federal bulk packs at 6am on Fridays.

As I see it, you have three choices at this point. Haunt walmarts and the like (big time killer. Watch Cabelas online like a hawk. They had bulk packs of Norma .22LR earlier today ($55ish for 500rd, gone now), and they are likely to have more between now and the appleseed. When you see it, order as much as they will let you. Then order more. The third choice is to bite the bullet (so to speak) and order high price stuff. E.g. ammosupplywarehouse.com will sell you Armscor brand (I have no idea) for $70+ per 500, or cheaperthandirt.com has Eley match grade for $180 per 500.

You need 400 rounds per person, and having a bit more would be good. You can have all of that delivered before you need it, but it won't be cheap on short notice. :(

Cabelas had some 50 rd boxes a few days ago with a limit of 2. Im not sure what it was but i think it was around $7 a box. Good luck.

I'll be at the event that weekend with extra rifles and ammo. I don't know that I'll have 1200 rounds extra, but I will have some. I can help with a brick.

I'd get in touch with the instructor(s). My wife and I am going to an event in Alabama in May and our instructor sent an email offering ammo at a normal price. They might not have any themselves but could help with getting some.

I would reach out to the guys who are running it they may be able to help. I was at one last weekend and they just gave me a box if 22 to use when I was there
