I am in need of a bigger cabinet. A safe would be nice, but pricey. I've been thinking about picking up a double door 16 gun Stack-On cabinet.

Who has the best prices on these? Are there any decent safes in this price range as well? 10 gun units are too small.

I currently have an 8 gun Stack-On cabinet.

Don't dink around, buy the biggest and best you can afford, and have space to place. I wish I had, my Stack-On is stacked full, and I have too many "homeless" toys now. I have to use my foot to push the danged door closed on it.

This is what my budget will allow. Worst case, it doesn't go in my bedroom closet & instead the garage.

I'd be selling off a couple of guns to buy a "real safe" before trusting my collection to a Stack-On cabinet.

Biggest problem with the stack on is the are not fire rated, they do sell a line of fire rated, also Ive read they are not much of a match for criminals.... With all that said I have one myself. Hey I am feeding millions of welfare babies, cant afford a real safe right now....

A "real" safe is generally going to cost several thousand clams for one that will hold only a dozen long guns. Forget about those Stack-on safes they sell at Dick's. Even one of those "heavy duty" ones that cost about a grand can be broken into by someone with a sledgehammer and a crowbar in under an hour.
