I've posted this on the Ruger Forums, but the work was so nicely done I thought it might be of interest to the larger spectrum of members here as well:

I've wanted a pair of "service" style grips for my Security Six. I had two pair, but both were a short fit on the frame and most photos I see seem to indicate this is the norm with the factory grips. I looked at some Jay Scott's on eBay, but none appealed to me. Then I saw one of Sack Peterson's auctions and knew they were the way to go for me. Bill is a pleasure to work with and his work top tier.

Beautiful. What's the story behind the gun? What did you do to the finish? Is it a blued gun that was hard chromed or a stainless that was chromed? I don't usually like matte finishes, but this one looks great.

Thanks all:)

Hi Confederate,
The Security Six is stainless. I blasted it with 60 grit sand; followed by another session with 80 grit glass bead. I then lightly buffed it with 0000 steel wool.
