I'm looking at mail-order carbine uppers.

Stag's site doesn't mention these specs.

Anyone have one of their rifles or uppers, and know what feed ramp design and FSB the guns have?

well i hate to reference "the chart" but it denotes Stag(their model 1) as "reports of parts not meeting spec but advertised as spec" for F marked FSB and "the chart" says Stag ( model 1) do not have M4 ramps

take "the chart" with a grain of salt, and wait for an actual owner to speak up

in reality neither of these are problems.

Yeah, it's not like my 20" rifle doesn't feed, and Stag supposedly ships their uppers zeroed, so I guess whatever FSB they have must match whatever rear sights are on the gun.:)

I'm just trying to get an idea about the price. It looks pretty good. One reseller wants $492 for the 2H, which is comparable to some similar uppers from other vendors, but without rear sights -- i.e. a competing upper, with a similar-quality rear sight, would run close to 600 bucks.

So I'm trying to figure out if I'm comparing apples with apples...

the "Chart" is oudated and inaccurate. ignore...

the stag uppers feature standard feed ramps, not the m4 type with the cuts in the receiver. you'll be fine though. plenty of LEO AR15's dont have the m4 feed ramps either..

F marked front sight base? Yes. all of mine have been.. on build 4 or 5 now..

+1

Aren't M4 feed ramps pretty much immaterial on a semi-automatic rifle? As I understand it they help on full auto rifles.....

So again, ignore the chart.

thats what i hear too. during FA fire, if a round hasn't advanced to the top of the magazine (properly seated against the feed lips) but the bolt tries to chamber it, the deeper longer feed ramp of an M4 would help it feed.

but im no armorer. again, ingest a grain of salt.
