Picked up a 627, I've seen people shooting with stainless steel moon clips at matches, and was curious where to by them. They seem much stiffer and reload faster than regular steel moon clips. I guess the same guy who makes it also makes a "moon check" tool.. Anyone know a name or web site to buy these?

thanks!

I can't help you with your question. This is the first time I ever heard of using moon clips with a 357 Mag.Learn something new everyday.Good luck in your search.

...the stainless-steel "moonclips" for the 627's are made by Dave Heart of Hearthco...his e-mail addy is [email protected] ...phone # that I have is 805-344-4850...be prepared for some "sticker shock"...as I understand it, they are made by a process called "Traveling Wire EDM" and start at about five bucks apiece!!!...but then again, they ARE stainless, and have less "flop" of the loaded rounds than other "moonclips"...quite the "Cat's Meow", IF you want to "Race" with the "Big Boys" at ICORE or IPSC....mikey357

Are there some 627's chambered in rimless rounds? My S&W cat shows only 357 mag for the 627. Or do they make full moon clips work with 357s? Or are they just using 9x19 in the gun?

If you want rimless you can get a 627 in 38 super. Moons clips for 38 super are pricy though. My 627 is a 357, and I'm going to run only 38 special through it, with moon clips.

Almost any revolver can be modified for moon clips. We have special clips to allow 45 acp to be fired in 454 Casull Rugers which is a real popular one.

TK Custom builds the moon clips we use.
