Stainless steel media?

Yes, i use it. Cleans brass like new, even the inside and primer pockets.

Not as quick as a vibrating tumbler. Smaller batches of cases that take a bit longer to tumble.
Then you have to rinse and dry the cases after wards.

Search the forum. There are lots of threads on the subject.

I use SS media in a Thumlers tumbler (rotary). It is a wet cleaning method. I deprime my brass and then run through the cleaning process. Cleans inside and out including primer pockets. All the muck gets flushed down the sink and I no longer have to deal with dust in my garage.

It is expensive ($200 for the tumbler not including media), but for me it was worth it. I run all my brass (pistol & rifle) through it.

I built a tumbler so I could do large batches one load ran for an hour puts out 1000's of shiny, inside and out cases.

I use the Thumblers Tumbler Model B to clean all my Brass WITHOUT THE PINS which in my opinion are a Pain. I tried the pin Method which left the Brass Clean & Shiny & before reloading was starting to Tarnish Very Quickly. I now use a Combination of Simple Green,
Dove Dish soap, & lemi-shine with the same results but without picking up SS pins everywhere & Tarnish. Works for me & just as quick.

+1 on the stainless media. Just a bit more time, but no dust, and amazing results. The picture of dirt to golden is entirely accurate.

Cleaning my Brass without The SS media with My formula leaves me with No Residue when I rince them well in a Metal Colander and they come out Just as Clean, works for me.

The primer pockets and the inside of the brass come out just as clean as they do when using the stainless pins? Sounds good, tell us more.

My recipe is using 1 tbs of Citric Acid/Qt of H2O, then add a little dawn dish soap. The key for this working is that it must be HOT, near boiling. The Hotter it is the faster it works. Normally will take less than 2 min if that hot. With the temp around 150F it will take 10min or so. I use this solution in a ultrasonic cleaner for agitation. Some use Crock Pots to heat the solution.

The mix used it the Thumber w/SS media is with Lemi-Shine dish soap and I think one more ingredient. The LemiShine from what I have found is about 25% Citric acid.

With any liquid you should de-prime before cleaning to keep from trapping fluids.

Do a search on Citric Acid on THR. There is a long thread 22+pages that covers this in detail.

Ok Here goes, In the Thumbler Tumbler I fill to about an Inch or two of the top with Water
I put the Brass in the Tumbler Then add 1/8 teaspoon of Lemi-shine, Two Tablespoons of Simple Green, one Teaspoon of Dawn dish soap, put the cover on & let it spin, the longer it spins the Brighter they get, Works for me & they dont start to Tarnish like the do with the SS Media after an hour or two. I hope you guys try it you will like it.
PS, Be SURE AND RINCE WELL WHEN REMOVING FROM THE TUMBLER, I use a Metal colander and pour mixture into a 5 gallon bucket before rince in the colander.

Yes the pins do clean just like the pic above. For really dirty, tarnished brass it will genuinely make it look like new. However I've found the process to be time consuming and slow. I think I'll try the kitchen formula mentioned above and see if it's faster and easier. Usually I just tumble with cob and Nufinish polish. Clean and reasonably shiny shoots just fine, so unless it's really bad I doubt I will use any of these processes.
