I started reloading shotgun shells at 12 yrs old. I am now 62. From the shotgun shells I advanced to 45acp and I have been reloading ever since - all calibers. I recently read an ad about the stainless tumbling media. Received my order on Friday, and 3 days later, I am still tumbling, drying and retumbling. They are still not ready to load and they do not work as indicated. I am going back to my Lyman red corn cob - it is much more efficient and less time consuming.

what is your current recipe for tumbling? how much water/brass/pins are you using?

I currently use 2 squirts of Dawn Dishsoap, a 40 S&W container of Lemishine. I use 5# of brass, pins, & water (water to about 1" from the top after everything is in).

I tumble for 4 hours (it is ok to go to 6 if you can't get it right at 4). I'll rinse several times and then get the pins out and dry. I normally let my brass air dry as I don't wish to be yelled at by the wife for using the oven.

I've not had any issues processing 10's of thousands of pieces of pistol and rifle brass. What kind of issues are you having?

From what I am reading the OP is possibly using the media in a dry vibratory type tumbler. I also get excellent results with wet media/soap and something like Lemmy shine. I have had the best luck using 1/4 cup of IOSSO casecleaner and only filling the Thumblers 1/2 full of water. Cleans most brass like new in 30-45 minutes tops. YMMV

Are you perhaps using your vibratory cleaner that you use your corncob in? If so, it's not going to work (and the weight of the water might cause damage to the vibratory cleaner anyway).

If that's what you are doing, all the steel is sinking to the bottom and nothing is happening. What you need is a rotary TUMBLER, not a VIBRATOR.

Thumbler's Tumbler etc or some have made some homemade versions.

Hope that helps.
