Hi. I live in a stat that doesn’t like ARs. Does anyone make a standard rifle stock style stock for an AR?

The look of the thordsen has grown on me, mostly because it's functional. I like the frs-ii but the frs-iii can use a rifle buffer and maybe better for bench work. The problem with the fins and spur type grips are that you have little control. The thordsen you can hold the rifle one handed, can't with the others. I find the thordsen grip very comfortable.

I hate the thordsen. It was really uncomfortable in my shooting hand. The fight light scr is more what I’m looking for but not at that price. Thanks for all the options.

It digs in right where my thumb webbing is and is not comfy for me at all.

There are a few rifles other then the ar-15, like mentioned above, I would like to try the keltec rdb survival, I have not seen any in shops tho. If ruger dropped the mini price $200 I think they would sell very good.

one problem is even if it's compliant most ffl don't want to sell it or do a transfer. It's hard enough around here to do a transfer, most shops don't like when guns are not sold by them. The person ends up paying more, average fee is $50. Local gun prices are high but you can't get anywhere near half the value when sold.

Not having privet sales keeps anyone from getting a card price, you can privet sale through a ffl but no one wants to. Plus people don't have normal gun talk anymore even in gun shops with the red flag laws.

best options probably a platform change. doing a NotAR is the hardest variation to come up with options for, especially low cost options.
Maybe a keltec su-16, Mini-14, or Ruger PCC if its going to be a short range rifle.
I really like the mini but absolutely not for the prices they go for (hence the desire to build an AR)

I’ve been looking at SKS rifles too but many of them are approaching the cheap AR price range too.

Before the current situation, AR kits from PSA were actually below the prices of decent SKS's.

I'm just not an AR fan, so I bit the bullet and bought a Mini-14. The new ones are more accurate than in the past, so that's not as much of an issue.

I know someone will chime in and say how accurate an AR is, but in real life, I don't see many people hitting MOA, regardless of what they're shooting. Within its cartridge range, a Mini in either .223 or 7.62x39 is adequate for hunting or SD.

As far as price, people will spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars customizing their AR, then point fingers at how expensive a Mini is. Sort of like 10/22 owners who rave about how great 10/22's are, but in reality the only original part left on their gun is the receiver.
