I just bought a Star Firestar Plus M4 9mm; looks like an officers 1911. I paid $200 for it in excellent condition. Does anyone know where I can get a user manual and how to break it down? Also can these guns shoot +P.

Thanks,

John

For disassembly: Line up the slash marks on the side of the slide and the frame.

The Firestar is a solidly-made firearm (I have two), and should handle +P ammunition easily; that's my opinion, and I don't have a user's manual.

Rail Roader;

Inoticed some scrapes on the outside chamber of the barrel at the ejector port like the barrel was scraping the slider have you had to mill yours a little?

$200 is a good deal. I don't have the 'plus' model but have 2 Firestars and love them. I have a M43 and M40, both are very reliable and accurate.

I had both the Star Firestar 45 and the Megastar 10mm. As well made as any guns I have owned, went bang and were built like tanks. To bad Star an old gunmaker didn't survive.

I found the Star website for extra parts; I fired my Firestar plus today - shoots as smooth as a Glock 19 - but it bites a bit so I sanded the "little do hickey" part of the grip that protects your hand from the slider at the top? Great trigger pull, acurate as heck...they probably went out of business for selling them so cheap.

Can the Firestar Plus handle a double stack clip or am I limited to 10 rnd clip?

I don't have a firestar now. I found the manual online. Mark

I'll never again be able to read 'Firestar' without thinking 'Anita Blake.'
