What are your thoughts on the star model B LGS has a bunch in stock all are in real good shape for a WW2 pistol if you own one do you like it

I love mine. I got it for around $250. It looked like it hadn't been shot much. My FiL liked it so much that he bought one for himself. In the year or so we have had them, neither has malfunctioned. They are accurate. Out of the 10-12 9mm pistols we own between us, only my EAA Witness seems to be more accurate than the Stars. That includes Beretta, Sig, BHP, etc.

I highly recommend them! :)

thanks for the info they look in real good shape I love my 1911 45acp so that's why i was drawn to it has a good feel and points good just need to hear a few good things about it before i seal the deal same gun shop has a few M48 rifle's
just trying to make up my mind
thanks

Great gun! Very reliable and durable. I had one years ago that I used to train new shooters with once they had mastered shooting a .22 pistol.

There are several variations of the Star b pistols. Here's some info:

I bought one about 9 years ago that turned out to be one of the "used in Soviet bloc service" as mentioned above. It's been to the gunsmith a couple of times to fix issues mentioned in the above article. Now it functions OK, but it was expensive to get it working correctly. I could be tempted to buy another since I like the pistol overall, but I would only buy the "Super b", which was one of the latest models, and never went to the Soviets.

Here is some info on the Super b.

S.O.G. has the Super b:

The standard Model B is a fine shooting pistol, those that went to Bulgaria then Russia were rebuilt using mixmaster parts thus the problems. Caution on dry firing because you will break the firing pin. There are pins available and at least one poster who will make a new one and fit it to your slide. I have a really good collection of semi auto model pistols made by Star and love to shoot most of them and have found them to be well made and reliable. Enjoy your pistol, they are very accurate.:cuss:n

I've got a Super B (and four other Stars) and find it a very nice gun. I wanted one 1911ish 9 and after looking at the choices and reading as much as I could find, I went with the Super B....which got me interested in the 28 and I bought one, but then I had to get a 30MI (all steel) as the next in the series and then the 30PK for an alloy frame and finally a Star UltraStar as it was their last pistol design and first poly pistol...and bingo, I'm "collecting" Stars.

I echo what others have said: sights are "adequate," trigger very good, handles just like my 1911s but nothing interchanges, and get the Super B as it didn't visit Russia and takedown is a snap.

Good luck and good shooting.
