My son-in-law has an older Star "B". He was asking me if anyone makes a threaded barrel for it. I have never seen one. Anyone know if they are available?

To answer your question, yes, I have seen one. However, that was at a gunshow a few years ago. I would try looking at marstar and some of the stateside online gun parts warehouses.

The real question is what variant of the Star model B does your son-in-law have? There were two main types, one in 9mm largo and one in 9mm luger. From what I've read, there's no easy way to convert one to the other.

Check out the forum at 9mmlargo.com.

Good luck!

Steve;

I looked around at the spots where I hoped to find something. Unfortunately, none had barrels at all, much less threaded versions.

Good luck.

A gentleman, master gunsmith, and heck of a nice guy who is a Star specialist is Sam Damewood. He can be reached via e-mail or phone both of which are listed on his site Wildcat Traders LLC.

Sam does great work and I am posting a piece on the Star Modelo B Super that he customized for my son and another on the M65 that he did for my daughter. Actually he did two M65s as my oldest daughter like it so much she ordered a clone.

I have a stock "Super" and it is a great pistol, got me back into SA automatics. The Largo is an underrated round to say the least. Hopefully I'll be reloading soon to take advantage of both the pistol and cartridge...:D

Incidentally, both Stars were purchased on his recommendation from Sarco.
