CDNN lists Star model BS 5" 9mm in their latest catalog in the used gun section.

Like my Model B, but would like a full size 1911 pattern 1911.

I tried advanced seach, but it wouldn't include the "BS" in the terms because it was "too short or too common" :(

Needless to say "Star" hits so many things as to be useless!

Anyone know the specific differences between the BS model and and the more common "Super B" which CDNN also lists. My main concern would be that the BS takes obscure mags that'd be hard to find extras of. J&G sales has the Super B mags, last time I looked.

You might want to look at:
http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg79-e.htm
http://star-firearms.com/firearms/guns/b/index.shtml

You want to pay especially close attention to the BS information on the second link. These are pistols captured by the Soviets in WW2 that have mix and match parts. You might end up with a stellar pistol or a dud.

I have a Star BM and love it. I would recommend getting a Star B or BM from CDNN instead.

Edit: I misread the page. Go ahead and get the BS. The only difference between a B and a BS is the addition of a magazine safety.
