Here in the south it hit 95F today so the AC is on and I am starting to think about reloading season again. When I had my house built I made sure I had plenty of AC ducted into the reloading room so it would be nice and cool when I load. Unfortunately during the winter when we heat, well the opposite occurs. So, I now reload in the summer and shoot a lot in the winter. It is a lot mroe fun to work the press in the AC then in the heat in my opinion.

I was looking at the stock pile and I am down to only 250 357 magnums left, 200 357 Max's, no 44/40's, 38Supers, 357Sigs and only about 400 380's left. My 38 special's are down to only 500 or so and 10mm's and 45's are both less than that.

So this weekend will be get out the powder supplies and see what I need to stock up on. I have been adding bullets all year so I have enough to get started. I already have a custom order of APS primers done with Powder Valley so as soon as it comes in I will get started. I really think I only need to get Power Pistol, 800x, 296, aa9 and maybe some more unique. Power Pistol and Unique go quickly at my house.

This is where I should at least be, but right now I am tapped down at least 2/3rds of this.

Anyone else load in bulk like I do and then not touch the press for months at a time (other than the occasional experiment)?

I loaded 2000 .45 ACP the last time I made a run. 500 of three different bullets, and 250 of two more. I have loaded 30 to 60 several times since then playing with stuff. For proven loads I make up in quantity, I like to load in batches of 500 for calibers I shoot a lot of. Might be one batch, or two batches of the same caliber, but it might be three.

.32-20 gets loaded 100 or 200 at a time. Same for .32 Mag & .38 S&W. So I guess it all depends.

Like some folks, I take spells and load a bunch then let it set for a while. All of my .45 and 9mm loads use a specific recipe for each so I dispense with the boxes and just use 30 cal. ammo boxes. Much easier to carry and when it gets low, I just dump more in.

Yeah I reload a lot in the colder months and shoot more when the snow is gone. Easier to find my brass then. In the winter I shoot in the local postal league rimfire and centerfire but that is not a large drain on resources. I will do a 5K or 10K run on pistol brass and then reload it when I get going.:)

I am fully loaded in .40, .308, .223, .45lc, need to work on 6.5x55 swede, but taking the .223 and .40 to the range this week and will need to work on it next

Relaoding Season ?
gee's I feel lucky when the temperature warms up to minus -20 F, and the wind stops, so it is not a complete blizzard(white-out) and I can go out on the frozen lake where I live, set up targets at 300 yards, and shoot my .416 Taylor, .338 Win Mag and my 6.5x55 Swede,,,,,

you guy's have it tough down south,,,,, lol

I like to load during the winter months too. I keep my "reserves" up to at least 1500 rounds of 9mm and 2,000 or more .223. Being here in the Northwest where winter consists mostly of cold rain, I still shoot but when summer (warm rain) gets here the volume goes up.

I've started buying components once a year and getting large shipments. Montana Gold for a couple of cases each, 9mm and .223 bullets, and Powder Valley for Power Pistol, AA2230, Varget for the .308, and all the primers I need to light everything off.

Buying like this makes the "Hazmat" fee only $.50 per "unit" (pound of powder or box of primers) but with the price differences from local suppliers there's no question.

I put stacks of plastic ammo boxes in file folder boxes with an 8.5x11 piece of typing paper folded in half and taped to the end. I label the box with a Marks-A-Lot pen. Then I stack up the file folder boxes.

When it is time to go mobile, the folder boxes have a handle on both ends, and the vehicle is quickly loaded.

I bought 8k 9mm 115 from MBC a few weeks ago...almost done loading them. It might last me through summer.
