I have a 870 express shotgun with a full choke I bought 98-2000 not sure. My question is can I use steel shot threw the barrel or it would damage it?

My waterfowl gun has screw in chokes. The full choke tube says "no steel". Therefore, I use the mod tube...it says "steel O.K."

I'm sure there are some tubes made that are O.K. for steel in full choke but I don't know any brand names.

Check the owners manual or call Remington. Be safe.

Steel shot will not pattern worth a tinkers damn through a Full choke anyway.

If you have screw-in chokes, get Mod & Imp Cyl Rem-Choke tubes.

One or the other will do what you want it to do.

Imp Cyl will pattern steel like a Mod with lead.
A Mod will pattern steel like a Full with lead.

A full with steel won't pattern at all because there is too much constriction.

It could cause some extra wear and tear, I'd consider plated shot.

I'd also consider the shotgun section instead of rifles.
